Gram, Malene

Malene Gram, Ph.D., (gram@cgs.aau.dk) visited the Center October through December 2009. She is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University, Denmark, where she is Head of Studies for Cross-Cultural Studies. She is interested in the child's and the young person’s voice in family affairs, in light of the sociology of childhood, seeing the child as in the middle of dichotomies of being both competent and vulnerable. Her husband, Henrik, was visiting the Collaboratory for Research from Global Projects at Stanford (through Professor Raymond Levitt). She also has 3 sons, ages 8, 13, and 15, who attended school locally.
